Echelon Iberdrola Digital Infra’s first development project will be Madrid Sur, a 160,000 sqm data centre campus near Toledo. When complete, the facility will provide XXXMW of capacity.
The site has already secured a 230MW grid connection and additional power will be provided by an on-site solar PV facility alongside further clean energy capacity from Iberdrola. The data centre’s electricity needs will be fully met by renewable sources.
The Madrid Sur project will represent an investment of some €2bn and will generate about 1,500 direct and indirect jobs in construction and as permanent operational roles. It is expected to be operational in 2029.
